Postpunk ist wieder in...könnte man böswilligerweise sagen, doch bei dem Bielefelder Duo ROSI ist das nicht nur eine hohle Phrase. Die beiden Musiker Sven Rosenkötter und Mirco Rappsilber haben genug musikalische Erfahrung in unterschiedlichsten Bands gesammelt und auch schon persönlich genug erlebt, um den dunklen Wave-Sound der frühen 80er Jahre authentisch rüberzubringen. Die 2016er Debüt-LP „Grey City Life“ und zahlreiche Konzerte haben dem Duo schon einiges an Aufmerksamkeit gebracht, was mit dem 2018 wiederum selbstproduzierten Nachfolger „Hope“ - auf Vinyl und CD - eindrucksvoll ausgebaut wird. Bei der Produktion erhielten sie Unterstützung von Jan-Niklas Jansen. Gemastert wurde das Album von Daniel Husayn in der North London Bomb Factory. Natürlich kommt einem der kühl wirkende Sound bekannt vor. Erinnerungen an The Cures „Faith“ und Joy Divisions „Closer“ kommen auf und ganz allgemein der Sound des frühen Factory Records-Labels, dazu eine Portion Cold Wave französischer Machart. Wirkt der Albumtitel „Hope“ beim Hören des Albums zu Hause durchaus ironisch, liefern ROSI auf der Bühne eine etwas rauere und sehr intensive Vorstellung ab, die das Publikum in Deutschland und dem benachbarten Ausland stets in ihren Bann zieht. Nicht umsonst beschrieb jemand die Band als „Tanzkapelle der schlechten Laune“, womit ROSI wohl perfekt auf den Punkt gebracht wird. Im Herbst 2018 unterschrieb ROSI beim Frankfurter Label Cold Transmission Music, so dass 2019 garantiert ein wichtiges Jahr für das Duo zu werden verspricht. - Alexander Pohle, Dezember 2018 -

In June, ROSI announced their transfer to the DISENTERTAINMENT-label , to find a wider audience beside the Post-Punk fanbase. Musically, ROSI stay true to themselves and don't deny their roots.
